What's for Lunch? Mexico

Traditional Mexican Dish, Both Delicious and Historical Mitsubishi Electric de México S.A. de C.V.

(August 2017)

Karla Gonzalez is a human resources and legal manager at Mitsubishi Electric de México S.A. de C.V.

She coordinates activities related to human resources such as recruitment, personnel selection, training, pay sheets, internal events, etc. In the legal area, she handles contracts related to company operations, compliance, immigration issues, policies and procedures, and much more.

Today, Karla (second from left) ate Chiles en Nogada at the company cafeteria with her colleagues from other departments of Mitsubishi Electric.

Chiles en Nogada, one of her favorite dishes, is prepared with poblano chilis filled with picadillo (a mixture of minced meat, aromatics, fruits and spices) topped with a walnut-based cream sauce, parsley, and pomegranate seeds that symbolize the 3 colors of the Mexican flag. She likes the combination of the ingredients not only for its savory taste but also for the fact that the dish has a tradition related to the history of her country.

For breakfast, she brings fruits to the office from home. And for lunch, she either eats at the company's cafeteria or someplace near the company, whichever she feels like on the day. She finishes her lunch each day with a cup of coffee.

The main office of Mitsubishi Electric de México (elevators, electric escalators and transport divisions).
